Are you serving one of London’s most climate friendly dishes

By Abi Englefield, One Planet Plate campaign manager

This summer the capital’s set to celebrate London Climate Action Week (LCAW) and we want to help seven million Londoners use the power of their appetites wisely and need chefs to satisfy them.

LCAW is the focal point for everyone working to lead the fight about against climate change to come together, share and celebrate the amazing work they’re doing and to look ahead and plan what more can be done.

While keeping within 1.5C is a massive challenge we want to make it the tastiest challenge possible. We all have to eat, and London’s restaurants can help all their diners to be part of the solution.

We’re looking to curate a collection of the capital’s top 100 climate-friendly dishes or, as we call them, One Planet Plates. So, throughout London Climate Action Week (25 June – 3 July), Londoners can find a restaurant and dish to suit their palate, pocket, postcode and principles.

We’ll be sharing our century of sustainable dishes with print and digital media, diners, and across our social media platforms. There’ll be many activations during London Climate Action Week. This be the only one that directs diners to eat out for the planet. We will be encouraging diners to visit the featured restaurants and celebrating this ton of tasty plates.

It couldn’t be easier to get involved.

For restaurants:

Simply submit your sustainable dish on our One Planet Plate website, where you’ll find the definition of what constitutes a One Planet Plate.

The dish can be a current menu favourite or a newly created special.

Once you have submitted your dish, we will review it before it lives on our website dish directory.

We will then shortlist London’s 100 climate-friendly dishes which will be celebrated before, during and after London Climate Action Week

This is an exciting time to make a positive statement as a business and let diners know your sustainable credentials.

The deadline to submit your dish and be considered for the London 100 is May 1st. If you have any questions or need help submitting your dish, don’t hesitate to get in touch with the One Planet Plate campaign manager Abi – [email protected],org

And if you’re a London restaurant-goer:
