Nominate your favourite restaurant to win stay in top hotel

One night in your choice of one of eight superb Red Carnation hotels, including dinner, is our generous offer. And all we’re asking for in exchange is up to 100 words telling us why your favourite restaurant should be named the People’s Favourite.

In 2015, for the first time, we asked you, the Great British dining public to nominate the restaurants, cafés, hotels and pubs that left you with not just a full stomach, but a happy heart and a great taste in the mouth too.

We were bowled over by your response. We received 800 nominations for the heroes of hospitality, those places that realise that there’s a lot more that goes into making a great meal than just a handful of ingredients.

We whittled this down to a shortlist of five including Lancashire pub The Eagle & Child, Aberdeenshire fish and chip shop The Bay, Silo, the pre-industrial, no-waste restaurant in Brighton, The Real Junk Food Project – serving food that would otherwise have been binned, and one where all of the staff have disabilities – StarBistro, you blew us away with your 10,000 votes.

We know there are even more incredible places to eat, across the UK that are serving up more than a meal and we need you to tell us about them so we can shine a bright light on the best and find a winner – The People’s Favourite restaurant 2016 – to receive the coveted award at the Food Made Good Awards on 22 March at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Lindley Hall. And just by nominating you could win dinner, bed and breakfast at one of eight fabulous Red Carnation hotels.

You only have to read what a difference winning last year’s award meant to StarBistro, to know that your nomination really counts.

Abby Guilding, Managing Director of the Wiggly Worm charity that runs StarBistro, said: “Winning the People’s Favourite Award in 2015 has been a truly amazing experience for us at the Wiggly Worm charity. It’s helped us to engage with more customers, sparked lots of local interest, and helped prove that we really are ‘no ordinary bistro!’  It’s fantastic to be recognised as helping make a difference, and that people enjoy not only having a delicious meal at StarBistro, but also helping to change people’s lives.”

Nominate your favourite UK restaurant which demonstrates its sustainable credentials and you could win dinner, bed and breakfast at one of eight fabulous Red Carnation hotels – a collection of family-run, award-winning boutique hotels. The winner, chosen at random from all those who nominate a restaurant for the People’s Favourite award, can select which of the group’s luxury hotels, with a focus on the environment and supporting the local community, in which they would like to stay and dine – whether in the heart of London or the peaceful surroundings of Dorset.

Red Carnation was the winner the Eco Hotel Group of the Year Award at the AA Hospitality Awards 2014.

The full list of hotels from which the winner can choose is as follows:
