Remember those trips to see Father Christmas at your local department store? You sat on his knee and he asked if you’d been good?
Well this Christmas we’re asking you to pull on the red suit, don the big, white bushy hair and beard and, most importantly, recognise those who’ve been really good this year.
And if you’re looking for a bit of musical inspiration for the whole process click here and sing along while drawing up your Santa’s Nice List.
Hundreds of you responded to the opportunity to pledge to #makefoodgood last month.
Now, as we approach Christmas, we’re asking you to select your food heroes of the year. Who have you encountered that’s made a real difference. Who should be on Santa’s Nice List?
Food heroes making a difference
Normally we recognise and honour restaurants, cafés, pubs, hotels and other businesses serving you good food. This is about celebrating the individuals who make a real difference, growing, producing, selling, preparing, or serving delicious ethical and sustainable food – Food Made Good!
It might be someone well known like Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall for his recent TV campaign to reduce food waste, or this good egg could well be under the radar but just as deserving in their own way. Whether it’s a chef or waiter in your local restaurant, someone who’s started a new food initiative in your neighbourhood or farmer who deserves some Christmas cheer for going above and beyond in 2015. Ho! Ho! Ho!
Cracking Christmas presents
We’re giving you two working weeks, from Tuesday 8 December to Friday 18 December to make your nominations for Santa’s Nice List. Simply go to our Facebook page and tell us in a paragraph who your food hero of the year is – who should be on Santa’s Nice List? Those that make a nomination will be entered into a prize draw. A winner will be selected at random on 21 December and receive a £150 gift voucher to spend at a Food Made Good Member of their choice as well as signed copy of Raymond Blanc OBE’s Kew on a Plate book as a very tasty stocking filler.
We’ll publish the Top Ten we recommend Santa pays a visit to this Christmas after the competition closes.…
