The Wheatsheaf donates £1,200 to Chilton Foliat Primary School

Food Made Good members support the community; The Wheatsheaf pub in Chilton Foliat has donated £1,200 to Chilton Foliat Primary School, following a fundraising initiative which has asked diners to contribute a voluntary donation of £1 at the end of their meal.

The funds raised through the scheme will help the school pay for a complete re-vamp of the playground lines in the school playground with colourful and durable thermoplastic markings, making it a fun and interactive place for the children to let off steam during play time.

Ollie Hunter, owner of The Wheatsheaf, says: “We are delighted to support the local community through our voluntary £1 donation initiative for Chilton Foliat Primary School, which has really resonated with our customers.  Indeed, we have been so pleased with the amount raised for the school so far that we have decided to continue the scheme for the foreseeable future.”

Headteacher at Chilton Foliat Primary School, Katie Turner, comments: “We are thrilled that The Wheatsheaf is able to support our fundraising in this way.  With the new Chilton Foliat Community Clubhouse currently under construction at the school, it is a critical time for us to receive help with our fundraising efforts and we are very grateful to Ollie and his wife, Lauren, for their support.”

Prior to supporting Chilton Foliat Primary School, the pub raised funds for StreetSmart, the charity that helps homeless and vulnerable people throughout the UK.
